THE ORIGIN STORY
1979. A garage in Hawaii. Pizza boxes everywhere. A bunch of surf punks with too much attitude and not enough sense to know they were starting something legendary.
That's how GECKO HAWAII was born — In the beginning, we made apparel for surfers and skaters. No computers. Just hand-drawn logos, a couple of guys with a healthy disrespect for boring clothes, and an urgency to make life more WILD — so that everyone looked in your direction.
Then, like all great things, we suddenly disappeared. Went underground. We didn't even realize it, but in that time, Gecko became a legend. A myth. A thing people found at thrift stores and went "WAIT, IS THIS REAL?!"
Spoiler: IT'S REAL. We're back. We dug up the original artwork AND the original artists (we did not literally dig them up), re-issued the classics, made new apparel to electrify the senses and make the nostalgic part of the brain explode with awesomeness.
And yes, our original Gecko Grid tee appeared in Stranger Things Season 4. No big deal. (HUGE deal.)
